An October 3 Wargamer report, “head designer reveals scrapped plans to return dead characters in Reality Fracture”, revisits Mark Rosewater’s design podcast, where he says Reality Fracture originally planned five deceased characters as Hexhaven’s college Deans, including Jaya Ballard and Gideon. The podcast was uploaded last month but recorded in December 2023, shortly after design handoff, making this a window into an earlier set version rather than a fresh production change. Gideon survived; Jaya did not, and the other three remain unnamed.
